WELCOME TO
PROFESSIONALLY SPEAKING THE NEWSLETTER FOR THE ROUNDTABLE OF FOOD
PROFESSIONALS
A lot
has happened since our October issue. We are looking forward to the New
York Restaurant Show March 4, 5 and 6.
We are
pleased to announce our members will be feature presenters for two
seminars. The first seminar will be held on Sunday March 4 from 11AM to
Noon.
The
presenter will be Kathie Carlson, President of “Celebrations by Carlson”
which specializes in event planning and distinctive catering for all
types of gala celebrations. Carlson has a passion for New York City and
has completed many road races, including the NYC Marathon. She is a
woman of focus and drive, and has
been
active in the food industry for over twenty years instructing classes in
food presentation and party planning as well as food styling and edible
creations.
Her
intriguing topic is: “Without Disgrace; Avoid Catering 911”. Come and
see how you can delight your customers and friends every time.
Look for
another one of our long time members, Nick
DiSpirito who is not only featured in this years glossy
flyer,
he will also be presenting a seminar Tuesday
afternoon from 11:15AM to 12:30PM with Hope Jones.
The hour
and 15 minute seminar is titled “Crank Up Your Cake and Cookies”. Both
Hope and Nick are well qualified.
Jones is
the President/Owner of “Faith, Hope
and
Gluttony, Inc”, a bakery creating American style cookies, cakes and
pies, sold wholesale and thru the Internet. DiSpirito is the Vice
President of Cake Specialty, Inc. a 4th generation family owned
business.
Cake
Specialty, Inc. is both a wholesale and retail establishment producing
specialty cakes, cookies and pastries for restaurants, caterers, country
clubs and the public. Mr. DiSpirito has created cakes for the actress
Cher Bono, Mercedes Benz USA and the Today Show.
He has
been quoted as saying “The more intricate the design, the more I enjoy
creating and seeing the smiling faces on happy customers”.
